Absaroka River Adventures: Trips Available

Half Day Trip Our half day trip on the Stillwater River is a must for vacationers in our area. It is tailored to allow time to fully enjoy this stretch of river; whether it's doing the "Superman Float" through a big wave, cliff jumping, or just taking a swim. And don't let the name "Stillwater" fool you. Rapids like Mr. Bubble, the Swinging Bridge, Beartooth Drop and Play Pen will be sure to get your attention. The Stillwater is a great introduction for newcomers to the sport of whitewater rafting. It is excitement without intimidation!

Full Day Trip

A full day on the Stillwater River gives you time to relax and enjoy the subtle moods of the river and its surroundings, with a backdrop of the beautiful Absaroka-Beartooth mountain range. We will serve up a hearty lunch, riverside.

Upper Stillwater Long the domain of kayakers, this stretch of river offers non-stop paddling fun for rafters as well. ARA is proud to be the first and only rafting company offering trips on this beautiful stretch of river. On these early season floats (May-June) that take advantage of the spring runoff, you'll paddle raft through almost continuous Class III rapids as you float through the beautiful Beehive Canyon. Come early this summer and take advantage of this fabulous stretch of river.

Yellowstone River Full Day Come with us and experience a unique and beautiful stretch of the mighty Yellowstone. This trip is for those who don't care about the whitewater and just want to sit back and enjoy nature on a portion of the longest undammed river in the U.S. You'll want to bring your camera on this trip as phogenic opportunities abound. Lunch is provided by us. You bring something to drink. This trip is basically a private float, so we will schedule a launch time that is convenient for you. Allow 5-7 hours for this trip.

Max of 7 in a raft.
Groups of 8 or more call for price quote.

Little Boat Float Want to get REAL wet? Go for a ride in one of our mini-rafts. On this trip, you will travel down the river in a 10’ raft with a guide and three companions. This will be an adventure you won’t soon forget! You will surf holes, maybe flip over and probably do some swimming. You will definitely have fun! So grab three friends and be prepared for anything on this trip.

Kayaks For the more adventurous, we offer river trips in our one and two person inflatable kayaks. These boats are great for the active beginner who wants to experience kayaking without the fear of confinement. After a short lesson, your guide will accompany you down the river. Price includes wetsuit and booties, if needed. (Minimum age 13)
